Southern Girl in Minneapolis

Hey y'all! Your 2010 president is back from January weather in December in Minneapolis. I was certain it would kill me but I managed to survive. I wasn't sure as we walked around in -3 degree weather, but it got positively balmy after that. It was even 28 degrees outside, briefly!

Anyway, I tell all of you this to say that if this southern gal can survive that, everyone can do it in October. It'll be worth it. From Target to Legos to the Walker Museum and the great Swedish and German heritage (you might be able to hang around for an Oktoberfest, perhaps), there will be so much to be inspired by. It's the 40th year of your organization, so come for the big kickoff party before we sink our teeth into the issues we'll face in the next 40.

We've got a great team together and I know Penny and Winston are going to do a bang up job planning this event. They need your help, so get in touch with them with your ideas, connections and thoughts. This conference and organization belongs to you, so help us out!

And, it's totally worth going up there for the breakfasts. Holy cow, do they do breakfast up there in style. The shot I've attached is from Hell's Kitchen, a great little spot easily hit from the hotel, 2 blocks away past the Mary Tyler Moore statue. And, for those that are fans of Ralph Steadman, the entire place is decorated with his artwork.
